January 1, 2025
I celebrated New Year's Eve last night with a couple groups of friends. My friend who recently moved to another city was visiting and making the rounds, and I enjoyed spending time with them.
The past couple of months I picked up illustrated journaling since my best friend told me how obsessed she is with doing it. It has helped me become less precious about making a little drawing, and accessing a different part of the brain than that required to word dump into a journal. Illustrated journaling feels more fun and less angsty than the usual journal, and it only takes five minutes of the day. That five minutes makes a huge difference on my perception of my day. Each entry encourages me to find pleasure in the everyday mundane. Conscientious appreciation feels right because my life is made of these small moments.
This upcoming year I hope to lock in on my creative projects and spend more quality time with my friends.
